My company just committed a significant amount of money to remove local admin rights on +22,000 PCs, and transfer them into managed mode. The idea is to render the users unable to make hazardous actions; a valid idea for sure. I am part of the test phase and go-live is November 1st. Three days ago I logged into a test environment and spent 25 minutes downloading stuff, changing the default browser, proxy setting, uninstall the antivirus client and took the PC off the domain. I then wrote a mail to the project manager, asking if I am supposed to be able to do this (knowing the answer is no). I am still waiting on a response…
