Super computers

The world’s fastest computer, Gray Jaguar (1.75 Petaflop), takes up more than 200 rack cabinets. SGI just announced that they, by year’s end, will be capable of producing a +1 Petaflop computer, in a single cabinet. By comparison, one Petaflop computer is 1 billion times faster the foremost supercomputer in 1960. Technological evolution is cool as long as you blind yourself from any possible catastrophic consequences.
